Billion signs Vcomm to Distribute VoIP Failover Products

Vcomm has commenced distribution of products developed by VoIP specialist router vendor Billion. Billion manufactures a broad range of ADSL routers – ideal for the home, SOHO and SMB sectors - which include the ability to provide failover to the PSTN in the event of Broadband and/or power failure.

Scott Dobson, Managing Director of Vcomm, states: “With the recent Ofcom directive stating that all VoIP resellers should provide some sort of access to 999 Emergency Services, even in the event of service failure - Billion’s VoIP routers not only provide this, but deliver a cost effective, highly flexible solution.”

Julian De Selincourt, Billion’s Sales and Marketing Director added: “We’re delighted to have signed Vcomm as a strategic partner as they are so focused on, and well respected within, the VoIP sector. This alliance provides a great margin opportunity for resellers selling into the home, SOHO and SMB sector.

“We are the only manufacturer to supply the failover ‘lifeline’ feature as standard in our BiPAC routers – a great safety feature that offers extra peace of mind for users.”

Vcomm will be supplying the following Billion VOIP router models: BiPAC 7401VP, BiPAC 7401VGP, BiPAC 7404VGP and BiPAC 7404VGO.

In addition to the failover lifeline, another unique feature from Billion is Quality of Service (QoS). This helps users manage the bandwidth and prioritize the traffic of data effectively. It gives users full control over the traffic of any type of data. It ensures latency-sensitive and bandwidth-consuming applications like P2P sharing programs, VoIP calls, gaming packets or customer information can move through the router at lightning speed, even under heavy load.
