WAN Application Delivery company Blue Coat Systems was ranked as the leader of the WAN optimisation market according to a new report from communications market research firm Infonetics Research. The report ranks Blue Coat with the number one share of market during the third calendar quarter of 2008. Blue Coat market share grew by 18%, making it the fastest growing WAN optimisation vendor during the quarter.
“Our unique, comprehensive approach to WAN optimisation combines application visibility, acceleration and security which clearly appeals to enterprises and large organisations,” said Bethany Mayer, senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing, Blue Coat Systems. “WAN optimisation is no longer about simply accelerating files or applying indiscriminate acceleration to branch office traffic. Companies need to manage and distribute corporate video and accelerate business-critical applications, while stopping malware and mitigating the effects of non-business applications.”
