Bobby dazzlers sold at auction at Daisy

Daisy staged its very own Dickinson’s Real Deal style auction in Nelson on Friday, giving away prizes worth a total of £10,000.

Tanned up to the eyeballs, Head of Internal Sales, Mark Lamonby took on the persona of David Dickinson, auctioning off more than 200 prizes, ranging from quad bike to festive chocolate treats.

The auction was a culmination of sales activity over three months during which time all commissions earned have been totting up as Daisy Dollars.

Around 120 sales staff crowded around the rostrum with lot book in hand to bid for their chosen items, some making bids on behalf of fellow staff.

The quad bike was won by Jason Lanns for $159,000; which people recognised was a quite a steal later on the in auction, when, as people had money to spend and not many more lots to bid on, Nichola Horne bid $67,000 for a chocolate Lindt Reindeer!

Mark said: “I loved getting into character; donning a snazzy suit, applying fake tan and banging down the gavel and I think everyone really enjoyed the spirit of the event. We truly had some weird and wonderful bids going on, especially towards the auction close.

Daisy Group Plc’s director of sales, Karen Ullah, added: “There was a real buzz of anticipation around the office as to who wanted what prize and who has the dollars to bid for them.

“And with so many prizes on offer no one was left out, which is great for morale and the perfect way to introduce a spot of Christmas cheer to the office.

“We are already thinking about the next quarter’s sales incentive, and we don’t think the staff will be disappointed!”
