Broadsoft Names VP of Sales for EMEA

Hosted IP telephony platform company Broadsoft has strengthened its European management team with the addition of Craig Decker as the new Vice President of Sales for EMEA.

Decker will lead Broadsoft's efforts to expand adoption of the Broadworks VoIP application platform among European service providers. His appointment closely follows the opening of Broadsoft's new European Operations Centre in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

"Craig Decker has extensive experience in both the wireline and wireless sectors and knows the European telecom market. His appointment is part of our dedication to expanding our VoIP platform marketshare, operations and support services across Europe," said Mike Tessler, president and chief executive officer of Broadsoft. "The European telecommunications market is opening up this year for hosted voice services delivered via mobile, broadband and fixed-mobile convergence, and Craig will lead our efforts to seize this opportunity."

Prior to joining Broadsoft, Mr. Decker was vice president of worldwide sales for Newport Networks, where he developed and implemented strategies for Tier 1 service provider accounts, recruited successful EMEA and APAC teams, and initiated several key partner and customer activities. Mr. Decker also held several senior executive positions with other companies, including Syndesis as director of sales, and at Cosine Communications, where he served as general manager and vice president of international operations.

"The PBX dominated the enterprise communications market for decades, but now network-based VoIP applications offer a superior solution that allows operators to completely take over this multi-billion Euro market," said Decker. "In particular, the Broadworks Mobile PBX application is generating lots of interest from landline and mobile network operators, alike. I look forward to helping Broadsoft expand dramatically within Europe and the rest of the EMEA region, and cement the Broadworks platform as the de facto VoIP application suite in this market."

Decker is based in Broadsoft's EMEA headquarters in London.
