BT Channel Puts Focus on SME Business

BT Indirect Partner Sales has reaffirmed its commitment to small businesses at a high profile event showcasing a number of new services and initiatives designed specifically to help UK businesses thrive.

The BT Business Experience Event demonstrated how BT powers and enables small businesses with the latest IT and communications technology, highlighting the potential impact of technology on effective business management, competitiveness and ultimately business success.

Guests are taken on a journey through a ‘business park’ featuring multiple business models from sole trader through to multi-site company, with testimony from real businesses, and demonstrations of unique BT services that can help businesses control their IT and communications costs, be more productive and be more responsive to customers and suppliers.

Phil Purssey, Head of Indirect Partners for BT Business, said: “SMEs are critical to the performance of the UK economy and are the primary engine of its growth. BT Business is championing the cause of smaller businesses and sole traders and we are committed to working with the channel to serve the needs of this market. Over the coming year we will be supporting partners with the products and expertise that allow them to provide the UK’s small and medium businesses with technology that can help them thrive.”

The BT Business Experience event also saw the launch of a campaign to find the UK’s most inspirational entrepreneurs via the BT Business Essence of the Entrepreneur competition, which seeks to find the best of British businesses who have succeeded in part through innovative use of technology. Entrants will be judged by a panel of experts, with 20 winners receiving a photoshoot from world-renowned photographer Perou.

The channel will also be supported by a high-profile advertising campaign, demonstrating BT’s commitment to Britain’s small businesses. Gordon Ramsay is the first in a string of successful entrepreneurs to feature in the campaign, based on encouraging small companies to concentrate on doing what they do best, their business, and to leave the technology that helps to make it happen to BT’s specialists.
