BT has announced it has certified its converged communications platform, BT Onevoice, with the Microsoft Lync 2010 Office communications server.
By combining BT’s global voice and video services with Lync, business customers will have a suite of collaboration tools which delivers advanced capabilities and significant cost savings.
By supporting Lync within BT’s global IP network, customers gain access to the latest telephony, instant messaging, conferencing and presence software from Microsoft in a secure and fully managed basis. They can then benefit from BT’s end to end experience in providing business-grade voice, video and unified communications, with higher quality of service levels, network performance management, and continuous maintenance.
BT has launched Lync-based managed services in the UK and will be going soon to the US, with other regions to follow throughout 2011. BT Onevoice, Microsoft Lync and BT’s wider collaboration portfolio also play an integral role in BT’s Asian expansion plans with multiple new launches planned for 2011.
In addition, all of BT’s corporate voice services are eligible for its Accumulate discount structure delivering a highly competitive range of tariff and billing options.

This latest initiative follows the recent announcement that BT had launched BT Onevoice SIP trunking, which connects domestic voice services with BT’s global Onevoice network. BT also recently launched a committed savings offer in June, which delivers average savings of 25% when customers switch their voice communications to the BT Onevoice platform.
