BT Wholesale Hope United competition winners announced

Networks & Network Services
Back in June, BT Wholesale launched a competition to find the UK’s most deserving football teams, coinciding with the start of Euro 2020, in support of BT’s Hope United campaign,

The competition had over 60 nominations for teams up and down the country, with many nominating Junior teams in desperate need of investment for kits and equipment.  BT Wholesale were so overwhelmed by the response they’ve decided to give all nominees in the top 20 £100 as a small gesture.

And as for the top 3, after whittling the nominations, the winners are:

  • 1st place - £2,000
  • Kettering FC Kites

  • 2nd place - £1,000
  • Everett Rovers FC

  • 3rd place - £500
  • Ulleskelf Junior Football Club

Alex Tempest, MD at BT Wholesale, commented: “We’re overwhelmed by the response we’ve had from the channel to our Hope United campaign. It just goes to show that we’re all against online hate, and hope unites us. When we come together, as an industry, we can achieve great things.”

BT Wholesale wants to thank everyone that nominated a team for their entries, and also to thank the coaches, volunteers and parents of every team nominated. Not only for their devotion to making football an accessible, diverse sport where kids can enjoy themselves and learn new skills such as teamwork, but for continuing to run training sessions, games and keeping teams going through a very difficult period.

The team also wishes every nominated team the best of luck in their efforts, and can’t wait to share with the channel how these prizes support the winning clubs.

Together, we can all tackle online hate and kick it out for good!
