BT Wholesale offers cloud conferencing services

BT Wholesale is adding conferencing services to its extensive portfolio of traditional and IP voice services. Called Wholesale Conferencing, this new product provides its communications provider/channel customers and their end users with the ability to meet with colleagues, customers, stakeholders and suppliers wherever and whenever. It offers a wide range of conferencing services from a simple-three way phone call to large events involving 1,250 people across the globe

BT says conferencing saves money and is good for the environment. For example, typically every pound invested in conferencing results in at least a 20 times saving in travel costs and eliminating travel significantly reduces CO2 emissions too. Ovum expects the global use of audio conferencing services to grow from 37.8 billion minutes in 2007 to 57 billion minutes in 2012.

BT Wholesale is providing its customers with the following services: Audio conferencing: includes Meet Me conferencing for up to 40 participants with no prior booking required; Meet Me Global gives a local dial-in number for global stakeholders and the Premium service offering guaranteed line availability, enhanced security, call recording, and call management.

Web Conferencing: can be combined easily with Audio Conferencing enabling participants to view presentations, share documents and run online discussions. It offers a choice of two leading web conferencing services – Microsoft Live Meeting and Cisco WebEx.

In the near future BT says Wholesale Conferencing will also offer video conferencing.
