Businesswise Expands Team

A salesman with good old fashioned values at the heart of his success has joined Lancashire-based reseller Businesswise Solutions.

Mike Smith, 48, has been appointed as senior business development manager for the cost reduction and purchase management organisation which is enjoying huge successes in the communications market, looking after big high street such as SpecSavers.

Bringing with him years of sales experience in the communications sector; seven years of those with Daisy Group Plc, Mike is wasting no time bringing in new business deals.

Mike said: “I put my success down to good, old fashioned, consultancy-based account management, making sure I understand each customer’s individual needs and tailoring solutions around them, as opposed to a standard blanket approach which is all too often being used today.

“It is vital to enjoy rapport with our customers and make it clear that we are looking to build relationships for the long-term; we don’t want to be just a one hit wonder.”

This is clearly a method which works well for Mike, who, while at Daisy, was the best salesperson almost every month, always outperforming targets, sometimes by a staggering 250%.

It was this exceptional performance which also saw him win the Salesperson of the Year accolade twice during his time there.

Mike said: “I pride myself on the fact that my customers trust in my advice and they know that if they have a query or issue they can pick up the phone to me direct and I will do all I can to sort it for them.

“By dealing with a company like Businesswise Solutions people can feel assured that they will always speak to the same people every time; not a faceless call centre. I am really enjoying the new challenges and development opportunities Businesswise has provided me and look forward to sharing in the company’s successes in the months and years to come.”

Frazer Durris, Businesswise Solutions director, said: “Having Mike on board is a huge boost to our sales team. He is very well respected in the communications industry and offers solutions which will reduce a customer’s bottom line while helping to improve efficiencies. We look forward to announcing some interesting contract wins from Mike in 2012.”
