C2000 Has High Expectations for WD My Book World Edition

Computer 2000, the UK arm of Tech Data, is predicting a positive reception for Western Digital’s new My Book World Edition storage device following the launch of the latest version of the solution this month.

The WD My Book World Edition II enables users to access their stored files over an IP network through a standard browser. This means that home or businesses users can gain access to their files from any location in which they can get access to the Internet. Capacities of up to 2Tb are available and like all NAS boxes, the device can be attached to any point on the network, independent of a dedicated server or PC.

Eddie Moore, General Manager of the Components business unit at Computer 2000, is expecting the product to be a hit with the growing number of businesses that need uncomplicated remote access to information. “We’re seeing strong uptake of affordable NAS solutions in the small business and home markets and, with its remote access feature, the WD My Book World Edition II has a unique value proposition that will have a strong appeal to the growing number of people who want to access files from just about anywhere – but don’t necessarily want to carry them around everywhere.”
