Calligo appoints experienced data and security executive as COO

Calligo, a managed data services provider, has appointed Mark Hickman as chief operations officer.

Hickman will be responsible for overseeing and implementing Calligo’s strategic plan and delivering exceptional world-class customer service. Hickman will be helping drive Calligo’s portfolio of managed data services – including data privacy, outsourced IT and data insights services – into data-reliant verticals such as financial services, legal, SaaS, medical and ecommerce.

“Mark’s experience in driving sales and service for global businesses solving productivity, security and data privacy issues for organisations of all sizes meant that he was the perfect fit for Calligo,” commented Julian Box, founder & CEO of Calligo. “Not only is he a good technical and commercial fit, but he has also been part of driving rapid and multi-territory organic growth, which is a key component of our immediate and long-term strategy. We are convinced that he will have an immediate positive impact on our business.”

Hickman has over 20 years of executive management experience with roles in sales, marketing, customer service and operations within multi-national technology organisations. Prior to joining Calligo, Hickman was vice president of the Data and Insights division at Tyler Technologies, a global information management services provider for local governments, and COO at WinMagic, a multi-national provider of enterprise-grade data security and encryption solutions.

“As a managed data services provider, with a multi-faceted service portfolio plus an usual mix of valuable skills in both data and its privacy, Calligo is right at the forefront of IT service provision,” added Hickman. “While the rest of the MSP industry still takes a ‘technology down’ approach, Calligo aims to build from customers’ data needs upwards, including data privacy, productivity and cost efficiency, and deliver more impactful benefits to its customers as a result. It is a compelling proposition, and with the support of the team’s proven track record and skills, I am looking forward to helping take it to market and deliver excellent service to our customers.”
