Cash-In on the Mobility Market say Nimans

Massive potential in the mobility market will open-up major new revenue streams for dealers throughout 2008 and beyond, according to leading distributor Nimans who describe this sector as the fastest-growing in the UK.

Nimans says it is ideally placed to help its customers capitalise on the many new opportunities that integrated communication on the move presents, particularly with innovative applications from Ericsson for push e-mail, presence and even Sat Nav - via the latest next generation telephone systems or other dedicated devices.

“We expect demand for e-mail on the move and other mobility applications to increase from its current 3% usage in the corporate sector to 30% in two years time, as indicated by a range of market analysis - so there will be phenomenal growth in mobility,” explained Nimans’ Ericsson Business Manager, Chris Birchall.

He added: “What Ericsson is refreshingly doing is not trying to influence people to change their handset, they are complementing an existing handset of choice and delivering applications which can boost business productivity and convenience. This could be e-mail, synchronisation with office calendars, access to server-based contacts within the office, presence visibility and also voicemail access.

“What they have created is a unique product offering called Mobile Extension, which is a patented feature of Ericsson’s complete mobility solution, spanning the company’s extensive product range. This technology creates a perfect mirror image of a desk phone so that all the same features can be accessed away from the office via a mobile. The innovative technology can generate significant cost savings as it can work out the cheapest call routes, particularly when making international calls. It’s much more than mobile twinning and all of these capabilities are available on a mobile of choice, not necessarily a Sony Ericsson handset. It’s just a simple case of downloading the application and it’s licensed to use.”

Ericsson’s Enterprise Multimedia Server (EMS) spearheads the company’s growing mobility portfolio. It is a feature-rich single box business communication solution which gives business users a single point of contact for any form of communication - voice, e-mail, fax, SMS or instant message - regardless of where they are and what device, fixed or mobile, they want to use. In addition the Ericsson Mobile Navigation (EMN) software provides satellite navigation on a mobile whilst the company’s portable Ericsson Mobility Organiser (EMO) also reflects the increased demand for office mobility.

Birchall concluded: “This is a tremendous opportunity for dealers to get involved in the fastest-growing UK market today. Nimans is at the forefront to deliver these applications both for today’s and tomorrow’s networks. Talk to the Ericsson team at Nimans to find out more. “Ericsson base their philosophy on providing solutions from an end-user perspective which are much more tailored to individual needs. It’s about next generation networks and next generation distribution. Together we can help a dealer drive his business even further forward.”
