Chess Telecom has announced the appointment of Stephen Dracup as Managing Director of the Alderley Edge based business.
The appointment comes after a successful year for Chess, who made nine acquisitions and grew its annual profits by 34%.
David Pollock, Chief Executive at Chess, commented “Stephen has been a valued board member, senior leader and strategist at Chess for a number of years. It’s the growth and success of our people which underpins the growth and success of our business and Stephen is an example to all of us in that respect. It’s our aim to be recognised as ‘the choice’ for business voice and data solutions and I’m confident Stephen can further achieve that vision in 2012.”
Dracup began his career at Chess after the acquisition of his own telecoms business, Hoodpoint, in 2004. Initially appointed Technology Manager, he has held a number of positions at Chess, joining the board of directors in 2009 as Business Development Director. In 2010 Stephen was made Managing Director of eBillz, a billing subsidiary of Chess, which under his leadership had its most successful year in its trading history in 2011.
