Chess has seen its Financial Director Mark Lightfoot ranked as one of the elite in his profession, achieving a position in the BDO TMT Hot 20 FD’s. Lightfoot was one of only 3 FD’s listed from the North West.
David Pollock Chief Executive at Chess commented, “Mark is a dedicated, loyal and experienced member of our Senior Management team here at Chess. As a business we aim to be a great place to work and a great place to be a customer and Mark has played an integral part in making this happen. Not only does Mark run a tight financial ship but he also organises the Chess Knights football team which has had considerable success in the last few years and helps to raise money for charities in the local area, many of which he has forged strong relationships with.”
Lightfoot joined Chess in 2008 as Financial Controller and was promoted to his current Financial Director post in 2010 after what Pollock described as ‘a testament to his excellent management of the day to day financial activities’. He has also been described as a ‘silent hero’ becoming one of the leading industry consolidators of recent times helping to secure Chess a £21 million acquisition facility with Barclays and being involved in over 20 mergers.
