Chess is 43rd in Britain’s Fastest Growing Private Companies

Cheshire based Chess plc is second in the Northwest in this year’s Sunday Times Virgin Atlantic Fast Track 100, and is ranked 43rd nationally.

Now in its tenth year, the Sunday Times national table, which was published this week, ranks Britain’s one hundred private companies with the fastest-growing sales over a three year period.

With an innovative and focused growth strategy that combines organic growth with acquisitions, Chess has grown rapidly over the last few years to become one of the UK’s leading business telecoms providers.

Key to the future growth of the business is Chess’ Blueprint for Success, which was launched in December 2005. Chess’ Blueprint sets out its vision for the future and strategy of growth and has been instrumental in setting Chess apart from the competition.

Since the launch of its Blueprint last year, Chess has enjoyed a successful year, winning the regional final of the National Business Awards Business Improvement through People, Large Business of the Year at the Cheshire Business Awards, the Federation of Communications Services Service Provider of the Year and most recently being ranked 28th in 2006 Deloitte Technology Fast 50.

Chess has made substantial investment to continuously improve in all areas of its business, in line with its Blueprint. This includes the recent launch of its innovative FREE2TALK tariff that enables businesses to talk to each other for free.

Chess’ Chief Executive, David Pollock was delighted to be listed in the Sunday Times Virgin Atlantic Fast Track 100.

“This caps off a great year for Chess,” he said. “Ranking 43rd in the UK Fast Track 100 and second in the Northwest is a great achievement. It is testament to the success of our Blueprint, and the hard work and determination of all our people, here in Alderley Edge and our 200 Partners around the UK. And not forgetting our customers, without whose continuing support, we would never succeed. Chess is an ambitious organisation. We do not want to be known as the best of the best, but as the only ones who do what we do – it sets us apart.”
