Citrus Telecom deploys the DIGTALK VoIP trunking solution

London based carrier Citrus Telecom has selected Digitalk for its VoIP service deployment. Citrus Telecom will deploy Digitalk’s Multiservice Platform to offer VoIP services to both business and residential customers, while supporting existing services and SS7 interconnects using the same hardware platform.

By deploying the Digitalk solution, Citrus Telecom says they will be able to realise network operational savings for their customers by removing the need for third party media gateways and unnecessary TDM trunking.

Chris Spicer, co-founder and technical director of Citrus Telecom said, “Digitalk’s IP Telephony solution offers us an integrated billing and service platform on a completely turnkey basis and gives us the confidence to roll out large scale services.

“After an extensive selection process, Digitalk was by far the most scalable and cost effective solution for our network rationalisation. With the deployment of Digitalk’s VoIP Trunking card, we have a clear service evolution path to meet our customer’s future requirements for advanced Broadband Telephony services.”

Citrus Telecom is also using Digitalk’s SIP and H.323 trunking for its interconnection arrangements for both termination and origination of VoIP, and is using SIP for its business and residential offerings of Broadband Telephony.

Justin Norris, managing director of Digitalk commented “Digitalk has been focused on delivering an integrated VoIP and TDM Multiservice Platform that allows our customers to achieve both operational cost savings and to deploy next generation services. I am delighted that Citrus have chosen Digitalk to help take them to the next stage of their service development.”

Now operating under a unified Digitalk Network and Service Management platform, Citrus’ requirements for centralised Least Cost Routing tables and a single management system for both VoIP and TDM services can be quickly realised, offering significant operational savings. The centrally managed system also enables the effective management of network utilisation, ensuring the preferential use of capacity on the most cost effective telephony routes and that service costs are reduced. This allows Citrus to pass savings onto customers thus ensuring they provide the best value possible to subscribers of their VoIP and broadband services.
