Clear IP launches mobile IP app

Clear IP, a value added hosted services distributor delivering mobile, telephony and data solutions to UK resellers and consultants, previewed its intelligent Mobile (iM) application at Convergence Summit North.

iM, powered by TeleWare, is a mobile integration solution which allows the user to make calls over a chosen route or network and gain the benefit of making calls at lower tariff rates. In addition, mobile handsets can access the rich set of PBX style functions allowing short-code dialling, conferencing, call transferring and call recording.

The product has two deployment methods allowing users to make calls from mobile handsets either integrated through their own voice platform or alternatively through Clear IP’s hosted service. Clients are deployed over the air, simplifying delivery and management, while shortening the sales cycle.

Ste Pritchard, CEO at Clear IP, stated: “The iM suite offers a fantastic solution that will introduce significant uniqueness and margin into our resellers’ FMC and mobile portfolios.”

Pritchard added that business use of the mobile phone has increased steadily over the last decade. Today, over 40% of calls made in the office are made on a mobile phone. However, he stated that mobile calls can be expensive and do not access many of the business tools made available via desk phones. There is significant demand for a new type of telephony solution, Pritchard claimed, one which combines the functionality of the desk phone with the mobile experience.

iM is to set be formally launched during April. It is available for Nokia E-Series, N-Series, Windows Mobile 6 and BlackBerry devices.
