Cold Snap Puts The Heat into Conferencing Sales at Nimans

Nimans is reporting red-hot conferencing demand as arctic weather ignited a mini sales boom. Orders accelerated by around 10% after the UK was first gripped by sub-zero conditions.

Nimans’ Head of Conferencing Sales, Ian Brindle, says interest continued to rise as temperatures plummeted - on the back of a 15% general growth in sales throughout 2010.

Return on investment is one of the best selling tools for resellers, according to Nimans who supply major brands such as Polycom, Konftel and ClearOne.

“From the start of December when the first blast of arctic weather arrived, we noticed a significant spike in orders of around 10%. We expect healthy levels of business throughout 2011,” said Brindle.

Nimans says product innovation is a major factor in the popularity of both audio and video conferencing. “We offer a wide range of solutions, from plug and play audio devices to completely mobile units through to cost effective video hardware and live meeting functionality - through Lync enabled devices such as Polycom’s CX range.”

Brindle concluded: “Despite recent research indicating that some workers are reluctant to appear on camera because they are worried about their appearance, conferencing in general remains a viable alternative to traditional travel. It saves businesses time and money in travel which also helps the environment. It’s a great way for dealers to harness additional revenue, whatever the weather.”
