Colt calls for market to take SMEs seriously

Colt has called upon the telecoms market to take Small-Medium sized Enterprises (SME) seriously. Speaking at its 2008 Partner of the Year awards in Valencia Spain on Friday, Rakesh Bhasin, Colt Chief Executive Officer said: too often SMEs are given a lesser priority.

Bhasin continued: “All too often multi-national blue-chips are given a lead priority by the carriers and, instead of receiving modular solutions designed specifically to meet their needs, SMEs are simply offered scaled down versions of products and services designed for larger organizations. The time has come for SMEs to expect more. It is in this spirit that Colt’s drive is for closer, longer-term and more interactive relationships, working with a strong and vibrant channel community to deliver best-in-class business communications services to the SME market.“

Colt aims to set a new standard in meeting the needs of SME customers by empowering them to seek more value from their relationship. Through its committed SME business division, Colt will offer a range of new and compelling propositions based on up-to-the minute customer demand. Customers will benefit from pre-configured, standard priced offerings as well as consultative, professional services to meet more complex needs. All will be backed by Colt’s stringent Service Level Agreements.

Colt’s Partner of the Year awards - now in its second year - are designed to honour partner excellence and recognise business development achievement. This year, the Awards provided the ideal forum for partners to hear the details of Colt’s new SME strategy. The awards were hosted by Richard Blaustein, Managing Director of Colt’s SME division and attended by partners from Belgium, Denmark, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland and the UK.

UK partner, BIS Limited, was amongst the winners. The company was awarded ‘Reseller of the Year’ in recognition of its outstanding contribution to doing business with Colt in 2007.

At the event, Blaustein commented: “Our partners are at the centre of our sales and business development operation. It is through our engagement with our partners and our commitment to outstanding customer service that we are able to provide SME customers with the services that enable business growth, with dedicated support. The overall aim for Colt is to be the vendor that is easiest to do business with and we are delivering on this commitment through our streamlined processes”.
