Commsworld Over the Moon with New Signing

Resellers Commsworld has bolstered its team by making one of its most impressive signings to date – former Aberdeen fullback Andy Dornan.

Andy, who played for the Dons under Sir Alex Ferguson during their most successful era in the late 70’s and early 80’s, has joined the Aberdeen branch of Scotland’s biggest independent telecoms firm as Head of Sales as part of an ambitious expansion.

Now the 44-year-old believes he can become part of a Commsworld team to mirror the success of Fergie’s famous Aberdeen side, which included legends such as Willie Miller, Alex McLeish, Gordon Strachan and Jim Leighton.

Andy has amassed 14 years sales experience with companies such as ADT security and Caudwell Communications since retiring from professional football in 1992.

His new role at Commsworld’s Aberdeen office will now see him lead the company’s sales expansion in the North East and comes on the back of two key business wins in Duncan Todd Opticians and diving equipment manufacturers Divex.

He said: “I am delighted to have joined Commsworld because as soon as I found out about the company and met the people working here, I knew it was heading in the right direction.

“I was extremely lucky during my football career to have played with some great players in a great team and although it sounds like a cliché I am convinced the team at Commsworld can be just as successful, albeit in their own way.

“Since finishing my playing career I have gained a lot of valuable experience in sales and I am now thoroughly relishing my remit of helping to grow Commsworld in the North East.

”I have amassed a lot of contacts in the area through both football and previous sales roles and I’m positive that this, coupled with Commsworld’s undoubted expertise in communications technology, will see us go from strength to strength.”

The company, which specialises in delivering hi-tech communications solutions that converge voice and data applications to enhance business processes, saw turnover last year jump by 20 per cent to just short of £5million.
