Gass has spent over 12 years with the company. As a consequence, he has full and up-to-date working knowledge of the business and is ideally placed to continue taking the company forward. He will now work with Steve Lockie to ensure a smooth hand-over of Computer 2000 in the run-up to its year end on 31st January 2007.
Commenting on his new role, Andy adds: “I’m thoroughly looking forward to the challenge of taking Computer 2000 into 2007. We have a clear strategy and we are already moving in the right direction. We will go into the new year with a positive outlook and with a firm belief that we can build on our past successes and meet the challenges that lie ahead.”
Steve Lockie is leaving Tech Data Group after a 10-year period of continuous service. He was appointed Managing Director of the UK operation in June 2004. He is leaving at a time when Computer 2000 is resurgent.
Commenting on his decision, Steve says: “I have thoroughly enjoyed the last 10 years and want to extend my most sincere thanks to all the management and staff at Computer 2000 and Tech Data. I’ve been fortunate enough to work with some very talented and dedicated people during my time here and I have learned a great deal, especially over the past three years. I’m moving on with a mixture of sadness and excitement about the future. I’d like to thank everyone at Tech Data for their support over the years and wish them every success in the future.”
Speaking on behalf of Computer 2000, Andy Gass states: “Everyone at Tech Data has great admiration for Steve and the tremendous job that he has done over the years both in the Middle East and the UK operation. We are sorry to see him leave and wish him every success in the years ahead.”
