Computer 2000 Evolves Cloud Partner Connect Programme

Computer 2000, the UK arm of Tech Data, has announced a further evolution of its Microsoft online services enablement and activation programme, renaming it Cloud Partner Connect, and adding further enhancements to the scheme ahead of the forthcoming launch of Microsoft Office 365.

The programme, which was previously known as BPOS-InterConnect, aims to provide resellers with knowledge development, pre-sales support and advice, lead generation and marketing activity that will enable them to drive their sales of Microsoft Online Services. The company has already recruited more than 50 resellers for the initial phase of the programme and expects this number to rise significantly ahead of the launch of the next revision of Microsoft Business Productivity Online Suite (BPOS), Microsoft Office 365. Microsoft is widely expected to announce full availability of the solution this summer.

Computer 2000 has also updated the programme, which it runs in partnership with AIMS Online Services, a partner-to-partner IT consultancy which specialises in assisting IT resellers with the adoption and delivery of Microsoft Online Services, to incorporate other solutions, such as Windows InTune and CRM Online.

Dwayne Earl, Microsoft Business Manager for Computer 2000, said: “Computer 2000 has invested early to ensure that resellers can get on board and maximise the benefits to the full when demand for Microsoft Online Services starts to rise. Many are already reporting high levels of interest from SME customers and with the launch of Office 365 fast approaching, we’re expecting the demand for information and demonstrations to accelerate, so this is the ideal time to get on-board”

Peter Kempton, Managing Director of AIMS Online Services, added: “Computer 2000 showed strong leadership and was well ahead of the curve with BPOS-Interconnect and by renaming the programme to reflect the forthcoming release and adding in other Microsoft Online Service products, it is staying ahead. The software market is changing resellers need to be aware of and adapt to those changes. Cloud Partner Connect gives them the opportunity to do that.”
