Westcon Group has signed a distribution agreement with Sony which will see the group resell, support and maintain Sony IPELA products in the UK market.
Westcon’s Technology Solutions Group, which was created last year to integrate Westcon Group’s strengths in technology solutions with specific business and vertical market applications, identified the value of the Sony family of products to its overall portfolio.
By adding Sony videoconferencing and network video monitoring products to Cisco’s CallManager solution, Comstor say they will help solution providers deliver the applications that customers need to enhance productivity and extend the capabilities of the IP Communications network. The company says the IPELA range is an ideal solution for government, education, medical and enterprise customers looking to access and share visual information in real time. Because the IPELA range of products operate seamlessly with Cisco’s CallManager within an IP network, images from a video conference or security camera can be viewed remotely, allowing the viewer to travel outside the local network or closed-circuit system.
Jon Pritchard, General Manager, Comstor UK, commented: “Sony is a perfect addition to our affinity vendor program and adds a completely new dimension of capabilities to our Cisco product portfolio. This ultimately helps our resellers increase their ability to position and deliver a Cisco CallManager solution.”
Paul Hennessy, Director Sony Enterprise Solutions Group, added: “We are delighted to be part of Comstor’s Affinity Vendor Program, which we anticipate will broaden our channel presence in the UK market. Comstor’s experience with Cisco networking products, combined with our own products’ seamless compatibility with Cisco CallManager, enable us to play an important role in a larger IP-solutions set.”
Andrew Gilbert, Managing Director, at reseller Node4 added: “Sony products, combined with Comstor’s technical expertise and support, enable us to present more compelling solutions to our customers and help us be more successful in an increasingly competitive IP solutions market.”
