Comtec Restructure

Comtec, a distributor of telecommunication products and provider of Managed Services to the communications industry, based in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, has announced an organisational restructure.

John Archer, former Managing Director has been appointed Executive Chairman to focus on Comtec’s strategic development and commit more time to developing key partner relationships. Consequently, Comtec’s Deputy Managing Director, John Buck is promoted to Managing Director, with David Cox, Comtec’s current Non-Executive Chairman re-appointed to Chairman of the group holding company to concentrate on the group’s strategic development.

John Archer, Executive Chairman said, ‘Comtec has seen a strong recovery over the past two years following the downturn of the industry five years ago. During 2006, we achieved a growth in sales of over 30% and which also saw a strong return to profitability. This is a great achievement in what has effectively been the first year of a three year recovery plan, resulting from the rapid growth within our Private Networks Division and the award of several major new contracts with carriers and system vendors within our Public Networks Division.’

John Archer went on to say, ‘In order for us to capitalise on this growth going forward, we had reason to review the structure of the organisation, which I strongly believe will provide an opportunity for the people within our business to develop and ensure we sustain growth in what can be seen as an optimistic outlook for the period ahead.’
