Conect event brings mobile to IT channel

Exertis Micro-P has announced its latest ‘Conect New Partner Event’ was a great success, with a large turn out and strong interest from the IT channel.

The one day event held on 13 February in Manchester was designed to show IT resellers how they could benefit from selling mobile airtime and voice over IP (VoIP) via the Exertis Micro-P online partner platform for airtime distribution, Conect, to customers.

Simon Slater, general manager for Conect at Exertis Micro-P, stated that the event, the second of its kind, went smoothly and that two thirds of attendees have already signed up to offer mobile services through Conect.

Slater commented: “Conect enables IT resellers to have a one stop shop portal for all of our services, to manage their revenue share payments, and to serve their customers more effectively and efficiently. We spoke to IT resellers about what Conect is about, how it fits into Exertis Micro-P’s strategy and how it will evolve going forward, and also about how IT resellers that have not sold mobile before or that have tried to sell mobile in the past but gave up, can grow their business with Conect.

“The response to the day was really good; a lot of resellers thought it was great we were thinking outside of our remit, and that we had recognised the challenges of moving into new areas and had worked out ways in which to provide help with those challenges via Conect,” added Slater.

The Conect team at Exertis Micro-P are travelling to meet IT resellers around the country who attended the event to help them get the most out of Conect and to provide training on the platform.

The third Conect New Partner Event will occur in April, and there will more to come, stated Slater. He added that IT resellers that have attended a New Partner Event will be able to attend a ‘Conect Partner Development Event’ where they will be introduced to the portal in more detail. These will be held around the country over coming months.

Conect is a £200,000 programme, focussing on recurring revenue opportunities, developed as part of Exertis Micro-P’s connected service strategy. It was launched in April 2013 to tie together everything Exertis Micro-P offers, delivered through a single, intuitive portal with a single billing system.
