Convergence Group Helps Micheldever Tyres Go the Distance

As Micheldever Tyres, the UK’s largest independent tyre wholesaler, distributor and retailer, continues to drive its business forward, it relies on a stable yet flexible IT network to support it. Convergence Group, the network solutions group, has expanded the highly efficient MPLS network it installed towards the end of 2008 to include a further 12 sites, ensuring total systems coverage across the whole branch network.

The new network has been created by Convergence to enable the tyre company to continue to inflate its operations while maintaining continuity of service to existing sites. The stability of the MPLS network also allows for future technologies, to be easily integrated into the existing system without the need for costly and disruptive network alterations.

Working in partnership with the Micheldever IT team, Convergence has improved reporting on network performance through the introduction of its NetView service. This enables Micheldever to accurately monitor the performance of the network at any given time and allows more informed decisions about upgrades to be made.

Commenting on the expansion of the network, Luke Claughton, Micheldever IT manager, said, “Flexibility and responsiveness of both the network and our IT partner has always been of paramount importance to us. Once again, Convergence has demonstrated its ability to integrate our network quickly and efficiently and with minimum disruption to current operations – a refreshing change in the telecoms and networking industry.”

Neal Harrison, commercial director of Convergence Group explains: “We aim to exceed our customers’ expectations both in terms of what we can deliver to their network communication operations but also in terms of the levels of service we offer. It is always our intention to partner with clients, rather than merely supplying them, and our continued relationship with Micheldever is evidence of the success that can be achieved through this approach.”
