Corporate say Telecoms is Changing Daily

Speaking to Comms Business Magazine Paul Baxter General Manager at distributor Corporate Telecommunications says that whether we like it or not, the shape of the telecommunications arena is changing on a daily basis.

“Traditional telephony resellers that have been accustomed to selling analogue based business telephone systems need to look outside the box and move with the times. Adding value to business telephone systems by bolting on headsets and associated products is simply not enough nowadays.

Headsets themselves are undergoing major change, and subsequently need not be confined to just the call centre environment any more. As VoIP stimulates increased and renewed interest from the business customer, it will also give rise to the development of new telephony hardware to compliment existing, VoIP based and hybrid telephone systems.

In particular corded and cordless headsets are now readily available for both VoIP and Skype applications and these need not be run in isolation, but as a part of the main corporate telephony network. As these specialist applications in particular impact on the telecommunications industry, it has opened up a plethora of new business opportunities for traditional resellers and dealers a like.

Headsets should not just be seen as peripheral items, but viewed as an integral part of the overall solution and no more so when it comes to catering for a customer’s specific needs.

Ultimately this will enable the channel to attain new revenue streams and greater margin opportunities.”

Corporate has seen a major shift towards the adoption and deployment of cordless headsets and say this trend will continue to grow throughout 2006/07.

“Our dealer community is moving more and more product into the wireless office space and as distributor we are supporting them by offering various special offers and promotions.”
