Council Calls On Executel Expertise

Reseller Executel, a finalist in next month’s Comms Channel Awards 2006 working with Berwick-upon-Tweed Borough Council in a bid to significantly improve customer relations.

The Council has called upon the expertise of Gateshead-based Executel to undertake a complete overhaul of its existing internal voice network with a view to streamlining communications. The installation will provide Berwick-upon-Tweed Borough Council with the very latest Voice over IP (Internet Protocol) technology, enabling the seamless delivery of both voice and data traffic over a single network.

Completion of the project is expected in May 2006 following which, Executel will continue to provide a tailored Least Cost Routing (LCR) and wholesale line rental package, saving the Council up to 30% compared to standard BT business rates.

Of the investment in state-of-the-art technology, Nick Latham, IT manager for the Council, said: “I am delighted to have the opportunity to implement a modern, cost-effective telephony solution that will benefit Council service delivery, providing flexibility to our working practices and enabling us to monitor our performance.

“Executel has demonstrated its commitment to working with us on this project and I look forward to a long lasting partnership that provides benefits and efficiencies to both the Council and its customers.”
