Crane Signs Distribution Deal with Trapeze Networks

IPT distributor, Crane Telecommunications has entered into an agreement to distribute the portfolio of Trapeze Networks across the UK & Benelux. The new deal will provide Crane's channel resellers with a broad range of revenue-generating opportunities across all of Cranes vendor partners such as Avaya, Mitel and Nortel.

Crane believes that Trapeze Networks is the only company that addresses and overcomes the critical and unique challenges involved in implementing a scalable wireless local area network (WLAN) infrastructure. Trapeze created the first integrated wireless mobility infrastructure, revolutionising the enterprise in the process by focusing on secure mobility, planning and management, and seamless integration with the wired network.

Crane's Chief Executive Officer, David Grant says, "We believe that high-quality applications like these from Trapeze will play a key role in the future of data convergence. Recent analysis from Gartner states that the VoIP market – is set to explode! The report indicates that there is a 31% increase in VoIP compared to a 20% decline in traditional switched systems – and Crane want to be part of that growth.”

Kees van Veenendaal, Managing Director and VP Sales of Trapeze Networks in EMEA added, “Our agreement with Crane Telecommunications Group is an important step in the extension of our Voice/Data integration channel capabilities, we experience a strong demand for Voice over Wireless IP (VoWIP) integration know-how. The Crane Group's channel partners that are trained in Nortel, Avaya, Mitel and Alcatel based VoIP-gateway products will deliver us the integration capacity to address these opportunities"

Crane sees the relationship with Trapeze as a golden opportunity for their reseller partners as the trend in Wireless Applications continues to soar. In 2005 there were 400,000 handsets sold and in 2009 this is set to erupt to 16m. Crane add they are the perfect partner of choice for resellers looking to move into the IP market.
