Colin Mann, UCaaS (cloud) Channel marketing Director at Mitel, spoke to Natalie Turner and Paul Richens, hosts of Comms Business Live, at the recent Channel Live event at the NEC. Mann drove home the message that although not all partners want to sell cloud there has been a shift in mindset from customers where they are demanding their applications be delivered from the cloud and on a recurring model.
Throughout Mann’s 20 year career he estimates that “we’ve been talking about cloud for at least ten of those years.”
Mann suggests that the rate of adoption is also accelerating, particularly in the last two or three years where people have gone from talking about a phone system in the cloud to talking about all the additional services also being delivered in this way.
