D-Link appoints Computerlinks to Increase Solutions Footprint

D-Link today announced it has appointed Computerlinks as a distribution partner in the UK. The appointment complements D-Link’s existing distribution channel and supports the company’s continued growth in both the public and private sector, particularly in the fields of IP surveillance and storage.

The two companies have also unveiled a ‘Fast-Start Programme’ to help resellers get up-and-running with sales of D-Link technology as quickly as possible. Support includes technical training, a NFR (Not-for-Resale) initiative, two ‘out-of-the-box’ marketing campaigns and telemarketing lead generation activity.

“There is a significant market opportunity with IP surveillance and storage, especially when it comes to the channel offering a combined solution to organisations,” said Chris Davies, General Manager D-Link UK & Ireland. “Computerlinks has a tremendous pedigree in providing packaged solutions to resellers, around which they can then deliver services to their customers. By working together we will now be able to deliver a whole range of new IP surveillance and storage solutions to Computerlinks reseller base.”

Physical IP security is a growing area of focus for Computerlinks and D-Link’s products are now available to its reseller partners. With the emergence of new technologies such as IP surveillance there is also a demand for networked storage. By combining D-Link’s network storage products and IP surveillance technology, resellers can provide organisations with a cost-effective and flexible way to store and view video footage. By providing a networked solution resellers can allow end users to view camera footage from anywhere in the world, and enable them to reduce management overheads.

“The services offered by Computerlinks complement the range offered by our other distribution partners. We will now be able to benefit from additional routes to market for our IP surveillance, storage and networking infrastructure portfolio, providing businesses with an end-to-end networked surveillance solution,” added Chris Davies.

David Ellis, Director of New Technologies and Services at Computerlinks said: “We are delighted to be working with D-Link; the addition of their cameras, encoders, networking and storage products to our portfolio will provide our partners with even more opportunities to deliver physical security and virtualisation solutions and help them grow their businesses.”
