Daisy chosen by Time Out to strengthen communications

Daisy Group has been chosen by global media company, Time Out, for the upgrade of its London office telephony and network services.

The first stage of the project, which is due to complete before Christmas, will see Daisy update the Time Out London legacy systems with the installation of an IP-based Mitel telephony system for the 200 staff members at its London headquarters.

By unifying voice and fixed line telephony with Daisy, Time Out will make savings on its network services and annual maintenance providing a significant return on investment over the next few years.

Will Kennedy, Corporate Sales Director at Daisy Group plc comments: “As a first step to strengthen the communications between its global offices, we will be transferring Time Out’s communications to an IP-based platform.”

The second phase of the project will see Time Out also introducing its New York office to an IP-based telephony system. Once in place, the two locations could be potentially linked with an MPLS mechanism to enhance its transatlantic communication.

He continues: “We are delighted to have been chosen by a company which is not just a success in the UK but worldwide. The prospect of installing the system to facilitate the business’ global network is especially exciting, as we continue to expand our customer base.”

Simon Chappell, Group IT Director at Time Out comments: “The business requirement for a scalable telephony and communications solution is paramount to the continued successful expansion of Time Out. The combination of Daisy and Mitel’s flexible approach and global reach complements our own global strategy, ensures enhanced communications between offices and maximises the mobility of our employees.”

Through the agreement, Daisy will also become the new provider of Time Out UK Non-Geographic Numbers (NGNs).
