Daisy continues to invest in staff

A total of 39 employees have recently gained new qualifications, having completed NVQ training courses while holding down their full-time jobs at Daisy.

They included Provisioning Co-ordinator Matthew Langston and Team Manager Shajah Rehman, who received extra commendations for being exceptional students.

Achieved through workplace assessment and training at Daisy House, Nelson, the programme in customer service, business administration or team leading, was delivered by local provider Training Station.

A presentation for the learners was led by Daisy CEO Matthew Riley, who praised each person for their hard work and effort.

He said: “While Daisy may have grown considerably in recent years, the same original beliefs are there. The development of our staff remains of paramount importance to us and we want Daisy to be a place where employees can grow their career.

“I started out on a Youth Training Scheme and have experienced the benefits of learning on the job. It’s fantastic to see so many of our employees wanting to do the same.”

Within just one year, Daisy Group Plc has seen more than 100 staff from various departments achieve NVQ qualifications relevant to their field, and the scheme is now being rolled out across its other sites with positive uptake.

Clare Martin, Daisy’s Group HR Director, said: “While many companies are currently looking to cut spend, we have recognised at Daisy that investing in our staff is what will determine our continued success.

“It is vital that we develop our employees and equip them with the right tools to provide customers with the very best customer experience during this period of rapid growth.

“All of the achievers have shown great commitment to the job and the company and we congratulate them all for their hard work.”

Lisa Whiteoak, of Training Station, added: “It’s always a pleasure to work with both the individuals and the management at Daisy, who show admirable enthusiasm towards new learning opportunities.

“It’s refreshing to see employees who are just as passionate as their managers about developing their roles within the company.”
