Daisy Group unveils Cloudselect at Cloud Computing World Forum

Unique new cloud product with the ultimate data security guarantee

Unified business communications provider Daisy Group has today launched its unique cloud offering that is deployed over its proprietary network and accredited UK-based data centres, at the fourth annual Cloud Computing World Forum in London.

Built with best-of-breed partners VMWare, Cisco and NetApp, Daisy’s CloudSelect has been designed to change the landscape of ICT technology provision for UK businesses while addressing the crucial – and often-unanswered question – ‘Where did my data sleep last night?’

Will Kennedy, Corporate Sales Director at Daisy, said: “What businesses need to host the critical applications and data that drive today's organisations are world class secure data centres, and we've invested millions in developing four of these in the UK which now handle some of the country’s most sensitive data. These data centres offer a cast iron guarantee of security and speed – the watchwords of any business operating online today.

“Entire businesses require instant, secure access to data wherever they are, and the ability to back this up, store it and recall it at any point in time. Not only do we deliver all of this with CloudSelect, but we also guarantee peace of mind because we can tell our customers exactly where their data is stored and guarantee it will never leave our UK network. Our cloud product comes complete with an impenetrable wall surrounding and protecting it.”

CloudSelect is suitable for businesses of all sizes, which can choose entire computing solutions complete with network resources and storage, allowing the entire infrastructure to be flexible and responsive, without requiring investment in hardware.

Daisy recently completed a £1m investment programme in its Manchester data centre, which is situated 25 feet below ground within a former Bank of England bullion vault.

The investment has been used to improve Daisy’s infrastructure, increase network capacity and develop its CloudSelect, computing-on-demand, offering.

Daisy operates four data centres across the UK, located in Manchester, London Docklands, Southampton and Jersey. All are connected to Daisy’s national fibre network, which delivers superior bandwidth to give faster response times. There is also access to a variety of additional network security services, ensuring Daisy can protect customer data from any unforeseen attacks and with the added reassurance that technical support is available 24/7.
