Daisy signs exclusive deal with Unique Distribution

Service provider Daisy Communications has signed an exclusive deal with Unique Distribution, the UK’s second largest distributor of mobile handsets.

The deal will allow business partners of the mobile distributor sell daisy’s fixed line solutions into their extensive mobile customer base.

It sees the creation of “Unique Telecom”, a division of Unique that allows the company to provide a one-stop solution to the business sector to compliment its existing mobile convergence propositions.

Working in partnership, Daisy and Unique have developed four products directly addressing the needs of small-medium businesses. These include highly competitive call tariffs and discounts against BT Retail line rentals, plus three bundle solutions including inclusive minutes, line rental and broadband options.

Customers will benefit from Daisy’s comprehensive online billing, a one-bill solution for their fixed line communications, and access to a team of trained business advisors from its UK-based call centre. Meanwhile Unique business partners will enjoy generous up-front commission payments and a wider portfolio of products to sell in to their customer base.

Daisy CEO Matthew Riley said the deal was confirmation of the company’s intention to continue its organic growth and embark on new channel relationships.

“The exclusive relationship gives Unique business partners the opportunity to expand into the fixed line market and at the same time allows daisy’s products to be taken to a completely new customer base,” said Riley.

“Daisy has big plans for 2007 and this relationship is further evidence of the company’s commitment to forging new channel relationships and driving the business forward with profitable organic growth.”

Daisy has provided Unique employees, from field staff to office staff, with extensive training in order for business partners to be fully equipped with the knowledge and skills to take the new proposition to the market.

In addition to this, business partners have been given access to a comprehensive portfolio of dual branded point of sale information and sales tools in order to help position the new products. The support they receive will be ongoing, with both daisy and Unique providing continued assistance for new business opportunities.

John McFarnon, of Unique, is excited at the proposition the deal provides its partners to take to the market.

He said: “We have developed the service to mirror the mobile contract commission concept where payments of up to £125 per line provide an exciting new revenue stream for independent mobile specialist resellers targeting business users.”

“Unique Telecom can now offer partners of Unique Distribution the opportunity to re-sell these products and receive a substantial commission payment within 14 days of receipt of a signed contract.”
