Data Select held its fifth conference for Platinum Club members on Thursday 26 February at the Welcombe Hotel, Stratford-upon-Avon. Altogether, 60 delegates from 45 dealers spent the day listening to product roadmaps and handset demonstrations from Nokia, Samsung, Sony Ericsson, LG, HP and Acer.
Fresh from Mobile World Congress, the Platinum Club conference gave dealers the opportunity to compare and contrast key product launches for the next six months to help plan their business. Highly successful in format, the conference has been the fifth since Data Select launched the Platinum Club in October 2007.
Commented Jason Kemp, head of marketing at Data Select: “The latest conference has been our most successful. The feedback from customers and manufacturers has been superb, in fact, one member commented it was better than CeBit and Barcelona. There is no other distributor offering customers the opportunity to get up close and personal with manufacturers.”
Platinum member Mark Walker of Alternative Networks added: “I thought the day went really well with the flow and pace being the best so far. Venue was also top drawer as cracking location and overall feel”.
The Platinum Club is the only initiative of its type in mobile distribution. In return for customers contracting to purchase an agreed monthly volume of handsets and/or accessories from Data Select, customers receive benefits which include: cost plus pricing, first to market products, samples, direct marketing support and an invitation to each conference.
