Dataselect Team Brave Race for Charity

MSPs
Five employees from Data Select will be undertaking two gruelling challenges during September to help find a cure for Freidrich’s Ataxia, a degenerative condition that affects over 10,000 people (mostly children) in the UK.

Gio Lo Nigro, Jamie Hill, Gary Andrews, Scott Powell and Nathan John are competing in both the Spartan Race on Saturday 30th August (a gruelling 5km obstacle course) followed by Back to the Trenches on Sunday 21st September (which is 10km of mud, fire, water and trenches). Although the team are all in relatively good physical shape, undertaking two extreme challenges within three weeks is no easy task.

CAT Phones have stepped in as sponsor for the team, who are raising money for Freidrich’s Ataxia, which is close to the heart of Roy Taylor of Data Select whose stepson has the condition.

Commenting on the challenge, team leader Gio had this to say, “Me and the lads wanted to get fit over the summer and somehow landed on the decision to do two challenges back to back! Then knowing of Roy’s family circumstances, it made sense to raise money for Ataxia”.

The team are hoping to raise over £2,500 for the cause and are halfway there. If you would like to donate please follow the link below.
