Datasharp enters a new generation

Datasharp UK is celebrating the end of its 30th year in the industry with a swathe of new products following a year of change at their head office in Truro.

The company, founded by Paul McIntosh in 1980, has a network of regional offices across Britain and, they say, an enviable reputation for strong channel relationships including Siemens, Shoretel, LG Ericsson and BT – backed up with a high level of customer service.

At the beginning of its fourth decade in business, the company is poised for expansion in 2011 with a restructured board and a new generation of products and services putting the company on track for what is expected to be its most successful financial year to date.

This comes under a new generation of top level management with a board of directors including founder Paul McIntosh, Jane Cockcroft – operations director and Allan Williams, who is technical director.

The new team has conducted a rigorous review of Datasharp’s offices and has parted company with a handful that fell short of required high standards of professionalism. The company has, however, continued to expand by taking on several new offices in the last three months – companies that are already reaping the rewards of their association with Datasharp.

The company says there is growing excitement about Datasharp’s new superfast connectivity portfolio – Datasharp Optimum Connect, set to launch in January. ‘The package offers a range of technologies, including Ethernet First Mile and fibre connectivity, to give customers the fastest and most reliable uncontended voice and data connections backed by strong service level agreements.’

As well as thousands of UK SMEs, Datasharp’s customer portfolio includes British Airways, RYA and provision of the communications that underpinned Granada’s reality TV show I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here, connecting studio to jungle.

“It’s a very exciting time to be in the industry and staff morale at Datasharp has never been so good,” said Jane Cockcroft, “the new board and the whole Datasharp team is highly motivated and enthusiastic about the direction the industry is taking. It’s great to be finishing 2010 on such a high.

Paul McIntosh, CEO added: “We have restructured the group, re-focused on our strengths and have a great deal in the future to be excited about. Datasharp is all about quality and, having reviewed our offices, we have a solid foundation that delivers, and continues to grow.

“We believe there are exciting times ahead and even in a difficult economic climate we are forecast to have our best financial year yet.”
