Value added distributor, DataSolutions has marked its 18 months in the UK market with the appointment of two senior executives supporting 60 active channel partners and an expanded vendor portfolio that includes innovators within the hyper-convergence, virtualisation and cloud space.
The successful Irish distributor who launched a UK operation with an initial £3.5 million internal investment in early 2016 has recruited Warren Powell as its new UK Channel Manager, who joins the business following a 12 year career within the channel including roles at Avnet Technology Solutions.
Lee Cunningham also joins DataSolutions as UK Business Development Manager with a remit to support its growing partner ecosystem that has grown to 60 active partners including recent additions such as CDW, SoftwareONE, Servium and Bytes.
On the vendor side over the last year, alongside Nutanix, DataSolutions have added Cohesity, a specialist in hyper-convergence for secondary storage; Densify, a predictive analytics service and Plexxi, an innovative technology offering application-aware fabric for public and private cloud.
“When we launched in the UK, we focused exclusively on Nutanix and that initial push brought us into contact with a particular set of partners that specialise in selling technology based solutions into the mid-sized and enterprise marketplace. These ground breaking partners have embraced innovative cloud solutions and are also specialists in virtualised environments,” explains Michael O’Hara, Group Managing Director of DataSolutions Ltd, “The addition of Cohesity, Densify and Plexxi are a particularly good fit and have really filled out our technology stack offering.
“Warren and Lee are great additions to the team, they truly understand the role of the specialist distributor and will help DataSolutions to continue our growth and build the best hyper converged focused channel in the UK!”
“DataSolutions have traditionally focused on adding value through education, sales support and marketing plus consistently delivering high value lead-gen campaigns on behalf of our vendors. In November, we are running a new event called Partner Edge, an exclusive gathering for partners designed to examine trends, inspire new thinking and share best practices while exploring breakthrough technologies disrupting the IT landscape in the cloud-first era.”
“In conjunction with our vendors including Nutanix, we will show partners how best to embrace the coming preference for hybrid cloud, stop selling technologies and buzzwords, and start making sense of the market and the technology to turn it into a customer solution that adds value to their business,” O’Hara adds.
Commenting on DataSolutions growth, Phil Cambers, Commercial Director and Founder at Virtualisation and Infrastructure Specialist at SITS Group LTD. said, “ DataSolutions have been the epitome of a value added- distributor. They have opened up MDF to us which has helped create a pipeline of business in the HCI space which we are now closing successfully, in addition they also have a sound technical understanding so can back up my technical team if required.
DataSolutions is Deloitte Ireland’s Technology Fast 50 – one of the top technology companies in Ireland and a winner of Best Specialist Distributor for 2 Years running at the Annual Tech Excellence Awards. The company is also the Fastest Growing Citrix Distributor for the Northern Europe Region with group revenues of around £30 million.
