Dextra’s Insight secures Samsung contract

Dextra Solutions, the accessories division of 20:20 Mobile Group, has won a major new accessories distribution deal with Samsung, following a rigorous four week tender process.

The win sees Dextra become the only mobile distributor with relationships with each of the big four handset manufacturers, Samsung, Nokia, Sony Ericsson and Motorola.

Commenting on the win, Dextra’s sales director, Matt Child, who led the successful team pitching for the tender, said: “We’re extremely really pleased with the result. Our pitch was based on our fundamental belief that every decision we make with a partner must be data driven and that our insight approach to customer segmentation and category management fitted perfectly with what Samsung were looking for.

“We have strong testimonials from our customers for this approach and a long track record of delivering this kind of value-added distribution,” Child added. “Clearly the market will be very tight next year and there is no room for error so our mantra of knowledge before assumption will be vitally important.”

A source close to the deal commented: “Basically, Dextra, Kondor and Brightstar were retained as accessory distributors. Don’t know how many were chopped off, but Data Select is now out, adding to its problems.”
