DMSL Tips Hosted VoIP to Help SME Resellers Emerge from Recession

Voice and broadband services provider, DMSL, is predicting a rapid acceleration in the uptake of hosted VoIP services and says that the trend will help many resellers emerge from the recession by providing new revenue streams for their business.

A new report from Infonetics Research said that there was a marked increase in business VoIP service revenue growth towards the end of 2009, with service providers reporting increased interest in hosted VoIP services across all sizes of businesses. It expects this trend to continue, with business VoIP services making up almost a third of all VoIP service revenue by 2014.

A recent web poll by Comms Business, also indicates growing uptake within the channel. It found that 54 percent of respondents said that they had lost a sale to a hosted VoIP solution, up from 46 percent in 2008 and 27 percent in 2007. In its April editorial, the magazine also points to other signs that suggest that the technology is now being more widely adopted and asks if hosted VoIP is now ‘at the tipping point’?

DMSL firmly believes that it is, particularly in the SME market. John Carter, Managing Director of DMSL states: “All the indicators now point to rapid uptake of hosted VoIP. VoIP is also a major opportunity for resellers, says Carter. “Adoption of hosted VoIP is accelerating fast and it’s quite simply too good an opportunity to miss out on. Resellers need to get into hosted VoIP and they need to get into it now. Customers see the benefits straight away and it will deliver excellent returns and recurring revenues for the reseller. Taking hosted VoIP to market will help comms dealers and IT resellers emerge from the recession by building a new and very profitable revenue stream, for their business.”
