UK based telecommunications company, Barclay Communications blasts onto Deloitte Technology Fast 50 rankings for the second year running.

The Deloitte award lists O2 Centre of Excellence Partner, Barclay Communications, as one of the fifty fastest growing technology companies in Ireland. Plus it grants them a place within Deloitte’s European technology ranking. A massive accomplishment for a B2B dealer in the mobile and landline phone industry.

Director of Barclay Communications, Adrian McCourt comments on the company’s success: “We are delighted to be listed for the second year in a row, especially in a year when the economy has been so unpredictable. This is a tremendous achievement, which is down to our staffs continued ability to hit those high numbers.”

Unshaken by the economy, Barclay Communications have continued to develop and expand their employee numbers and services. Within 2009 alone, their employees increased from 90 to 160. They have created IT Services and Technical Support departments. Plus they have developed new SMS and email marketing technology.

More significantly, in April Barclay Communications signed a groundbreaking deal with O2 that transferred the management of O2’s Northern Ireland based SME clients to Barclay Communications’. This deal alone could add an additional £16 million to Barclay Communications’ turnover. Good news if they want to stay in the Deloitte listings. Deloitte determine their award winners by reviewing a company’s turnover within a five year period.

With this in mind Adrian takes an excited look at the path ahead for Barclay Communications:

“We have not and will not stand still and wait for a more stable economy to arrive. We are acting now with an aggressive 5 year business plan that could give us a £70 million turnover. The plan evolves around some strategic partnerships, acquisitions and the development of more converged products and applications.”

Adrian believes that their current Barclay Telecom offer, which includes free landline to mobile and free mobile to landline calls, gives the industry some insight into the innovative offers and technology that will be delivered by the company within the next few years.

2009 certainly seems to be Barclay Communications year for accolades; they have picked up Mobile News and Mobile Industry’s Best Dealer Award, Comms Business Awards Mobility Reseller of The Year, and now they have returned to the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 rankings.

With their awards, partnerships and phone, IT, web, fleet tracking and marketing technology services, the question is; what will this unstoppable force throw at the market next? Only time will tell. But it seems Barclay Communications are definitely the ones to watch in 2010.
