Doro UK Announces Distribution Deal with Pama & Co.

Doro has announced that it has entered into a distribution agreement with Pama & Co covering both retail and wholesale distribution of the company’s range of mobile phones. Initially the consumer retail activity will focus on the Fone Bitz brand - currently trading in 32 UK motorway service stations. The first two products to be offered through Fone Bitz stores are the Doro PhoneEasy 332 (black) and the award-winning Doro PhoneEasy 410 (white).

In addition to the deal’s retail element, the whole Doro mobile portfolio will become available through Pama’s wholesale distribution channel. Pama works with a mix of independent and national retailers across the UK and overseas.

Chris Millington, MD of Doro UK & Ireland said: “Working with Pama creates an exciting opportunity for us. Pama’s retail business Fone Bitz is an interesting concept – with locations in service stations across the UK it has a very strong bias toward the senior demographic we’re aiming at. We made the decision to work with Pama as the company’s strengths are well-suited to exploring what is a senior retail environment. Furthermore, Pama’s distribution business has excellent penetration deep into the independent retailer base – therefore natural synergies exist in this area.”

Doro’s mobile handsets focus on providing ease-of-use, adaptable function and stylish ergonomic design. There are various Doro mobile options that can be tailored to help the mature mobile user address common impairments such as limited dexterity, reduced vision and hearing, or mobility.

Mike Hopkinson, Group Sales Director of Pama & Co commented on the relationship: “We see Doro becoming a major business partner as we work more closely to pursue our ambitious goals. We are excited about starting this relationship with two key models – both of which offer the mobile user an easy-to-use option. Furthermore, the Bluetooth capabilities ensure that our customers are able to benefit from the full range of accessories we offer. Doro has won many international design awards and we firmly believe they are the best-of-breed handset brand for the mature mobile user.”

The Swedish telecoms company previewed its new 600 series of easy-to-use mobile phones at Mobile World Congress 2011 - further details of which will be released in the coming months.
