Doughty to leave Avenir Telecom

Avenir Telecom, the UK business to business telecoms distributor, has announced the arrival of three new members of its senior management team, as John Doughty, commercial director, prepares to leave the business this July.

The first is Stuart Balaam who joins as sales director, accessories. Balaam brings with him more than ten years accessories specific experience and was previously UK country manager at Modelabs, where he ramped up the market share of their accessory and Bluetrek headset ranges. Prior to Modelabs, Balaam was business development manager at Parrot.

Avenir has also confirmed that Doughty is set to leave the company in July. Tow commented: "John has decided to leave Avenir for a new role focusing on the converged marketplace, and plans to work on new projects within the technology sector. John has been an important part of a very successful team over the last few years and we wish him well for the future."

"2009 is seeing a notoriously dynamic industry evolve even further. As John moves on I am pleased we have the right team in place to both support our existing clients and develop a set of new, highly profitable initiatives."

Adrienne Watt also joins the company as head of customer services and internal sales. Previously with Mercedes and bringing more than six years' B2B customer service experience, she will focus on partnerships, retention and after sales programmes.

Vedia Johnson joins Avenir as head of marketing. She previously managed branding for the National Lottery as head of creative services for Camelot Group and, before that, spent more than ten years as PR manager and head of in-store communications at Woolworths Group.
