Early Release for Avaya IP Office 3.1

Originally planned for a January 2006 outing, version 3.1 of Avaya’s IP Office systems has been released early. Now scheduled for availability in the first week in November, Avaya say 3.1 introduces exciting new features and increases the reliability and stability of the IP Office platform.

In summary Avaya sees the value proposition being as follows for the EMEA region:

Migration Opportunity.

Support for easy to use T3 menu-driven phones provides continuity of telephone user interface for Integral 3 customers wanting to upgrade to a converged communications system with integrated applications

New Market Opportunities.

New range of attractive European digital phones (T3), plus support for Message Waiting Indicator on wider range of Analog phones, and availability of back lit IP phone and expansion unit (4621 & EU24) create the potential for new market opportunities in Europe.

Providing a More Extensive Mobility Offer for the Larger SMB Customer. Extension twinning provides greater mobility options and Integrated IP DECT provides a single point of management for multi site deployments.

Provision of a More Resilient Solution. IP trunk fallback to ensure continuity of communications.

Lowering Support Costs for BusinessPartners. The resolution of many minor feature issues and enhancements to IP Office Manager result in a solution that requires less time spent on configuration/on-going support by the BusinessPartner.

A More Consistent and Resilient Call Logging Solution for Customers with Avaya Communication Manager and IP Office Collation of Call Detail Reports (CDRs) even when network is down and output of CDRs in Avaya Communication Manager (ACM) format.
