EDF Trading in Nice Move with Business Systems

Business Systems UK has agreed a contract with energy trading company EDF Trading to supply them with Nice Perform 3 next generation recording platform to address the elements of compliance and business analytics for their 180 traders.

The EDF Trading systems architecture will pass the equivalent of over 400 telephony trunks from BT dealer boards through the Business Systems platform. The process will capture all voice calls for storage and compliance purposes. In addition, a key driver for the new platform is the business analytics software, which uses word, and speech recognition to identify specific conversations against predefined business rules.

Business Systems is a long-term supplier to EDF Trading and implemented the initial recording systems when the company set up its London office. The new recording platform matches perfectly to the current business expansion and dynamic working environment, which is very much ‘business-as-usual’ in the fast moving world of energy trading.

With a fully VoIP environment, EDF Trading is an early adopter of technology within the financial market and well matched to the Business Systems solution which is based around the Nice Perform™ suite. For compliance purposes the suite provides restricted liability, fraud detection, business intelligence, centralised storage options, and inclusive business continuity support. EDF Trading has opted for an online storage solution, which provides archived data with full system redundancy to ensure back up.

Commenting on their choice of platform, Wai Chui, IT Manager at EDF Trading, “The solution supplied was well matched to our requirement; there was a natural migration path and it integrates effectively into our storage network devices. We liked the web browser and record-on-demand features and it also gives us a future platform from which to install the business analytics application.”

Richard Mill, Managing Director of Business Systems commented:- “Today’s data recording platforms are much more complex than the traditional bolt-on telephony devices. This new technology brings together business tools and processes that change the speed and efficiency with which companies work and makes them much more competitive in their respective markets.”
