Effective Communication across the Board for Chess

Cheshire based telecoms company Chess plc has demonstrated its commitment to effective communication with launch of a bespoke internal communications strategy.

The rapidly growing business that was listed 43rd in The Sunday Times Fast Track 100 launched its communications strategy in keeping with its core culture, values and spirit.

Chess’ strategy stresses the importance of open, positive and effective communication at all levels. Its purpose is to create a framework that will enable individuals, teams and Chess as a whole to become better communicators. Chess’ strategy provides policy, guidelines and tools for more effective communication.

Chess celebrated the first anniversary of its Blueprint for Success in December 2006. Chess’ Blueprint is a focused growth strategy that is an integral part of the everyday running of the business. It sets out the reason Chess wants to grow, its vision for the future and the critical areas it needs to focus on in order to achieve its vision. Chess’ communications strategy will help the business to focus on all of the Critical Success Factors outlined in its Blueprint.

Chess’ strategy covers all aspects of its business communications, from its dedication to prompt and polite telephone answering to effective meetings and recognition of success in its internal newsletter. Because of this, Chess’ communication strategy will be instrumental in the future growth and success of the business.

Chess’ chief executive, David Pollock places a lot of importance on the implementation of its communications strategy. “This is a step further on in our growth journey. Effective communications are imperative in the success of any business. As we continue to focus on our Blueprint, the launch of our communications strategy will enable us to improve in all the critical areas we need to focus on to achieve our vision. Chess is an ambitious organisation. We do not want to be known as the best of the best. We want to be known as the only ones who do what we do. This sets us apart.”
