Embrace the Cloud or be left behind says Outsourcery

Cloud computing specialist Outsourcery, supported by Microsoft and Research In Motion (RIM), outlined its vision for the future of hosting and Cloud-based services to an audience of over 100 Partners from across the UK at a series of Unified Communications Channel Roadshows last month

This follows on from the launch of their ‘InPartnership with Outsourcery’ programme earlier this year, which is promoting a major re-think across the industry, as Outsourcery brings together the skills, knowledge and infrastructure to enable its Partners to deliver hosted solutions combined with the latest mobility solutions - all in a single package.

The events included presentations from Microsoft as well as breakout sessions demonstrating the very latest Microsoft hosted technologies backed by Outsourcery’s multi-million pound investment in infrastructure, and Simon Howitt, Channel Business Unit Director for Outsourcery presented an update on the InPartnership programme, focussing on the three core components of Flexibility, Support and Products. James Akrigg, Head of Technology for Partners at Microsoft UK emphasised Microsoft’s commitment to the Cloud, and indicated that this area was going to attract the highest investment from Microsoft this year, amounting to over several billion dollars.

Speaking to the audience, Howitt said, “When Microsoft throws its weight behind something, you know it is going to be big and there is a fantastic opportunity available to Partners who recognise this early on - but if you don’t act now you could be left behind. Outsourcery recognised the opportunity months ago and has worked to develop a strategy and delivery structure that is currently unique. This was instrumental in Microsoft naming us their worldwide Hosting Solutions Partner of the Year 2010. The whole InPartnership programme is underpinned by Outsourcery’s strategy to allow its Partner total flexibility in how they wish to work with us and is already proving popular.”

Faruk Amin, Sales Director for voice and data specialists Abzorb Service Ltd said, “I see this as a fantastic opportunity for Partners, as it allows us to add value to existing customers by offering additional skills and services, but without having to invest in the training or infrastructure ourselves. There is no one in the market currently offering what Outsourcery can deliver to Partners and the fact that Microsoft is on board, just adds to the credibility of Outsourcery’s strategy. By my reckoning, by adding hosted solutions to our own portfolio, we have the potential to increase our ARPU by over 60%”.

Through the InPartnership programme, there are three main levels of engagement; Introducer, Dealer and Reseller, each with associated levels of support, service and commitment, and Partners can choose which suits their existing business model.
