Entanet Listed in Sunday Times Tech Track Top 100

Award-winning voice and data communications provider, Entanet, has been listed in the 2008 Sunday Times Tech Track 100 of the fastest-growing privately-owned technology companies in the UK. The company is ranked as 61st in this year’s survey after achieving annual sales growth of 53% over the past three years.

The ranking marks Entanet out as one of the UK’s leading communications providers and underscores the company’s achievements in successfully building a customer base that now exceeds 80,000 broadband users in the UK. Working through a nationwide network of partners, the company grew its sales to an annualised level of £17.2 million last year by providing a range of voice and data services, including broadband, IP telephony and private network solutions.

Entanet fully expects to continue its further growth and development says Darren Farnden, Marketing Manager at the company. “We are extremely proud and pleased of this achievement, which clearly identifies Entanet as one of the UK’s leading communications and Internet service providers and places us ahead of many other privately-held ISPs in growth terms. We expect that growth to continue. We are continuing to invest in our network and to grow our customer base in all areas, including broadband, leased lines and voice.”

In fact, Farnden notes, Entanet should probably have been included in the Sunday Times Tech Track 100 listing in previous years. “We have achieved meteoric growth in the last three years – in 2004 our annual sales were around £4.8 million and 53% is our average annualised growth rate over the past three years. That would have certainly put us into the Top 100 in any of those years – we have perhaps not been picked up due to the fact that we work very closely with our partners.”

Entanet provides all the network infrastructure and communications facilities for a number of partners who provide voice and data services, mostly to business customers. This dedication to its network of partners is a key element of Entanet’s success, he notes. “While our real presence in the market may to some extent be masked by our partner network, it is this dedication and mutual loyalty that enables us to reach out to a wider market and achieve consistent levels of growth.”

Channel partners have already recognised the value of Entanet’s dedication, voting the company Specialist Vendor of the Year in the Channel Awards, which are backed by leading trade newspaper CRN, for the past two years. Entanet has once again been short-listed for the award this year, whilst also being nominated in the 2008 Channel Network Awards.

Another key element of Entanet’s success has been the continued investment which the company has made in its network throughout its 12 year history. This has enabled Entanet to continue delivering consistent levels of service to its partners and customers. Entanet is now pioneering the delivery of ADSL2+ services by investing millions in a nationwide network that will enable it to provide even more reliable and high-performance connectivity, and a much wider range of services to customers throughout the UK.

Uniquely amongst communications providers, Entanet is already delivering more stable and faster services on BT’s 21CN platform, WBC (Wholesale Broadband Connect). To date, Entanet is the only company to invest in WBC, which has enabled it to develop ADSL2+ resale and wholesale products. Most other CPs are waiting for the managed version of the service (WMBC) which isn’t expected to become fully available until well into 2009. Entanet’s partners have therefore become the first service providers able to offer WBC-based ADSL2+ services that deliver consistent levels of performance and quality.
