Entanet Strengthens Its UK Network Capacity to 10Gbps

Entanet, the wholesale provider of data and voice connectivity, has committed to a significant increase in the capacity of its national next generation network. The move supports Entanet’s increasing rapid growth and provides the company’s channel partners with even greater opportunity to meet the needs of their SME, mid- and enterprise-market customers looking for a wholly reliable infrastructure to serve their communications needs.

Entanet has confirmed that it has committed to the upgrade to 10Gbps of the London-Midland-North ring of its UK-wide network. Steve Lalonde, Entanet’s Chief Technical Officer explained: “As part of the rollout of our national network over a year ago now, we already operate at 10Gbps or better across London and at 10Gbps between London and our principal Birmingham, Stoke and Manchester locations. Now, in line with our investment plans, forecasted growth and our network development strategy, we’re upgrading the links around the midland and northern areas to 10Gbps.”

The upgrade will see Entanet run resilient 10Gbps infrastructure between London-Nottingham-Sheffield-Leeds-Manchester, with the project expected to be completed by November to December this year. Entanet has invested millions of pounds in the development of its own NGN over the past three years, to create a reliable and resilient platform from which its channel partners can offer consistency of performance to their customers at competitive pricing.
